CeMOS Mannheim Connects High‐Impact Science, Co‐development, and Transfer through Collaborations

Abstract This invited Team Profile was created by the Applied Mass Spectrometry at Center for and Optical Spectroscopy (CeMOS Mannheim) in Germany. They recently published an article together with Sirius Fine Chemicals SiChem GmbH Bruker Daltonics. The work presents a novel concept vacuum-stable-by-design MALDI matrices that enable long mass spectrometry measurements (e.g., imaging) of least 72 hours. Through use photo-removable group, organic synthesis transformed widely used, but unfortunately very volatile matrix 2,5-dihydroxyacetophenone (2,5-DHAP) into vacuum-stable one. protecting group can be uncaged laser ion source then performs same way as common 2,5-DHAP. “A Caged In-Source Laser-Cleavable Matrix High Vacuum Stability Extended MALDI-MS Imaging”, Q.
